Call the Angels

I was thinking to myself that Jason Marquis has no spot on this team. Thats just my thoughts. Im not really a fan off his stuff or him for that matter. Then it hit me that If I was Big Jim I would call the Angels. They are in need to a decent starting pitcher. With all of there injuries this spring they would more then likely listen to what Jim has to say.

I dont know much about the Angels farm system or there young players. My question is who do they have that could help the cubs? Willits comes to mind but can he play center? Is there any other teams you feel would want marquis? You thoughts please.

Rangers Asking for What?????

Ok I didnt see this on here yet so yell at me if i missed it. According to RotoWorld :

The Rangers are believed to be asking for Sean Gallagher and Matt Murton from the Cubs for Marlon Byrd, the Chicago Tribune reports.

If the Rangers had offered Byrd for either a year ago, they would have been laughed out of the room. We still don't see Byrd being worth as much as either, but the Rangers are in a rare position of strength and might as well capitalize on it.

http://rotoworld.com/

And Also Mr. Rogers is speculating :

Despite GM Jim Hendry's protestations, the Chicago Tribune's Phil Rogers says the Cubs and Orioles are talking about a massive deal involving Erik Bedard and Brian Roberts.

According to Rogers' very highly placed source, Orioles owner Peter Angelos did shoot the deal down at the end of last week, but talks were back on again recently. Rogers believes the Cubs could send Felix Pie to Baltimore and bring in Marlon Byrd to replace him.

WARNING: NIU Threat

I just wanted to post this so people had an idea what is goin on at NIU tomarrow. Im posting so that you guys can contact any loved ones that attend Northern Illionis Univeristy.

(straight from NIU's website)

NIU officials are investigating a threat posted late Saturday evening in a campus residence hall which included a racial slur and references to the Virginia Tech shootings.

Written in black ink on a restroom wall in the Grant Towers D complex were two separate entries claiming that "things will change most hastily" in the final days of the current semester.

"Tell those n---ers to go home," the first entry reads. "ME / OUT ... Die Sem Burr 10th ... Hmz Sdn Cr." Officials believe the text message-style shorthand refers to "December 10" and "Holmes Student Center." Underlined letters within the first entry spell out the word "WATCH."

Following the initial entry is a second set of comments reading "What time? The VA tech shooters messed up w/ having only one shooter ..."

University leaders notified all students, faculty and staff about the threats through postings on the NIU website, all-campus email, voicemail, fliers and area news media. Security in and around the residence halls, student center and other campus buildings has also been increased, and the campus remains under a security alert through the end of the semester.

Additional communications and offers of assistance for students, faculty, staff and visitors will continue throughout the week. Updated information will be provided as it becomes available on the university website at www.niu.edu.

"My primary concern is for the safety of all members of our campus community, and to that end, we will err on the side of caution in all our actions," said NIU President John Peters. "We will not tolerate threats against individuals or groups," Peters said, "nor will we tolerate `hate speech' of any type on this campus."

Final exams will proceed as scheduled, and university officials said students and staff should remain "calm but vigilant." Anyone with information about the threats are urged to contact the NIU Tipline at (815) 753-TIPS, or their local Crimestoppers or law enforcement agency

( end of paste)

I hope everything turns out to be ok.

Padres offer Fukudome

Per Roto world:

http://rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=MLB&id=157

The Fathers have offered Mr. Fukudome A three year deal believed to be about 8 million a year. Fukudome is insisting on a three year deal, no more, no less.

I know many people are reporting that the Cubs will most likely land him, But I'm still nervous someone will snatch him from us.

Just reporting news. If it was been posted already let me no and ill delete it

Cubs reportedly close to offering Matsui 3 years

Per Roto world:

According to the Denver Post, the Cubs are expected to offer Kazuo Matsui a three-year contract.

The newspaper reports that the Rockies will likely let him leave if that's the case, which would be the right move. For all the talk of Matsui's dramatic improvement since leaving the Mets, he batted just .249 with a measly 638 OPS away from Coors Field in 2007.

My question is why? And where does he play. I could be wrong but I was assuming that DeRosa was going to start at 2nd base this year. Your thoughts?

Brandon Webb smells fishy?

I was gunna come post this during the game. But did anyone else notice the drak spot on Webbs hat during the whole game. And the fact that he touched that same spot before every pitch.

Im not saying this is why the cubs lose and bla blah. Im just saying that it Honestly looked like he had pine tar or somthing on his hat. I know he has nasty pitches, but some of them looked freakish. Again Im not looking for a reason to blame some one else. Im just askin if anyone else saw this, and if it looked like anything more then just sweat

After my first game in the Bleachers I think...

Last night was my first game sitting in the bleachers. I have to say its a whole different experience. And for the most part I really enjoyed it. And I will be trying to get a bunch of bleacher seats next year.

But somthing I have to rant about is the lack of true baseball fans that sat around me. I sat in right center about 10 feet right of the bushes in center. I sat next to a group of people that cared more about how many beers they can get before the inning was over. There were a group of about 3 guys 2 girls and 2 kids in this group. Average age probably 25-30. And I really wanna know if those kids got home safe. They rarely paid any attention to the game. I had to hear about this and that. Who slept with who, what she really wanted to do with her life. blah blah blah. And what really made it worse was the fact that honeslty every half inning 3 of them would leave for beers. Im not knocking that fact that you want to drink at the cubs game. I myself enjoy drinking. But honeslty ever half inning?

I know it has been discussed before, i just hate the fact that going to a cubs game is becoming more of a status symbol then going to enjoy the game. Its more of a hey guess what, I went to the cubs game and got loaded last nite, but I probly couldnt tell you who played or pitched. Im not saying that everyone is like that but im sure alot of them are. My question for you guys is, Is it like that in all sections of the bleachers? IS there a section where I dont have to hear about baby momma drama?

Sorry for my rant, it just got to me a little. But at the end of the day cubs win= a good nite. Lets go get them tonite

Craig Monroe? DFA'd

so the tigers
DFAed criag Monroe. Hits lefties very well. What does everyone think? I honestly think the CUbs might make a move. Could be a good pinch hitter? Also Willy Mo was reportably traded to the Nationals.
